To win the Trifecta requires the selection of the first, second and third in correct order in a race of 8 or more runners nominated daily by the Tote.
Bets for Straight, Combination or Win Banker entries or multiple entries are accepted up to the ‘off’ of the race concerned. Un-named selections, e.g. Favourite, are not accepted in Trifecta bets. Trifecta bets where the field is reduced to less than 5 runners before coming under Starter’s Orders will be void. Trifecta bets that include a non-runner will be void.
Types of Trifecta bets
Trifecta bets operate on selected races of 8 or more runners. A Straight Trifecta bet requires you to select the first, second and third horses in the correct order.
Stakes: Single entries are accepted with a minimum unit stake of £1, rising thereafter in multiples of 10p. Permutation entries are accepted with a minimum unit stake of 10p rising in multiples thereafter of 10p provided a minimum of £2 is staked. Returns will be paid in accordance with the official dividend.
A Combination Trifecta bet requires you to select the first, second and third horse in any order in a Trifecta race. Any number of horses from 3 upwards may be selected. Within the Combination any individual Trifecta bet containing a non-runner will be void but the others will stand.
Stakes: Combination entries are accepted with a minimum unit stake of 10p rising in multiples thereafter of 10p provided a minimum of £2 is staked Returns will be paid in accordance with the official dividend.
A Banker Trifecta bet requires you to select the winner of a Trifecta race and allows you to make multiple selections for which you think will finish second and third. Within the Banker Permutations any individual Trifecta bet containing a non-runner will be void but the others will stand.
Stakes: Permutation entries are accepted with a minimum unit stake of 10p, rising in multiples thereafter of 10p, provided a minimum of £2 is staked. Returns will be paid in accordance with the official dividend.
